Life without water
Jotocicha Campo Loa is an indigenous community inhabited by the Nivaclé indigenous people, located in the center of the Paraguayan Chaco, in the department of Boquerón. Mateo Pereira and his family live there, under one of the most unforgiving weather conditions in the region.
The prolonged droughts, frosts, and strong winds have caused the loss of their crops for the third consecutive time, leaving them in a state of total vulnerability, marked by the struggle to alleviate the scarcity of water and access to basic services.
